OVAHS is a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary primary health care service delivering clinical, allied health and mental health throughout Kununurra and surrounding communities. We are looking for a likeminded individual to join our team of professionals, based at our office in Kununurra.

 

About the role

Working within your local community you will be the main contact person for the Suicide Prevention Trial site. This position will work closely with the Kimberley Aboriginal Suicide Project Coordinator to support and engage local community people in identifying, implementing, and evaluating suicide prevention activities related to the Kimberley Aboriginal suicide prevention trial.

 

Please note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander as a genuine occupational qualification in accordance with section 50 (d) of the Equal Opportunity Act (1984).

 

Essential: 

  1. Sound communication skills – verbal, non-verbal and written
  2. Patience and empathy
  3. Good teamwork skills
  4. Maturity and a responsible attitude
  5. Good organisational skills
  6. Ability to work on your own
  7. Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  8. Able to produce a current National Police Clearance (within the last 30 days)
  9. Able to produce a Working with Children’s Check
  10. Able to produce a current driver’s license
