Female FASD Prevention Program Coordinator

OVAHS is seeking a FASD Coordinator to coordinate and deliver education and health promotion on FASD prevention for antenatal clients, the local community and service providers to also provide information on family planning and sexual health to individuals and groups. Ensure the focus of care is on the needs of Aboriginal clients within the context of their cultural identity and social circumstances

Criteria for applicants

Essential

♦ Knowledge and understanding of the issues pertaining to the health of Aboriginal people in rural and remote areas

♦ Knowledge and willingness to gain extensive and up to date knowledge in the areas of FASD, family planning and alcohol and other drugs

♦ Practice within clinical standards and quality of care, which is effective, efficient and in accordance with best practice and agreed standards and policies

 ♦ Demonstrate the ability to facilitate research, plan, implement and evaluate primary health care programs

♦ Ability to apply primary health care principals to practice

Desirable

Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities

♦ Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority – (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
