About the Opportunity

The Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) now has a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and community-focused Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Case Worker to join their dedicated team in Kununurra, WA on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will work closely with clients to provide case management, advocacy, and support services tailored to individual and family needs. You’ll engage with community members through one-on-one support, group activities, and cultural healing initiatives, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to strengthen connections and improve overall wellbeing across the East Kimberley region.

Your work will be grounded in respect, cultural safety, and community connection, helping to create real change and long-term outcomes. Whether through yarning with clients, supporting families, or linking people to services, your impact will be meaningful and appreciated.

About You

You are a compassionate and community-minded worker with a strong commitment to improving the health, wellbeing, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. With experience in social and emotional wellbeing, case management, or community services, you are driven to support individuals and families through culturally safe and empowering approaches.

Your ability to build trust, engage respectfully, and provide client-centred support sets you apart. You are confident in working alongside individuals, families, schools, and community groups, and thrive in a collaborative, community-based environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in case management, social work, Aboriginal health, or community services. A relevant qualification in community services, mental health, counselling, or social work is desirable. Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or remote settings will be highly regarded.

While you will be supported by a strong and dedicated team at OVAHS, working in a remote setting requires resilience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to empowering communities to take control of their wellbeing.

  • Specific benefits include:

    • Base Wage: Grade 4 ($85,900 - $91,192) Grade 5 ($93,016 - $96,920) (dependent on Qualifications and experience) per annum pro rata + Super
    • 5 weeks annual leave per year
    • Additional paid leave over the end of year closure period, as per leave policy
    • Annual flight allowance $1,800 per annum pro rata 
    • Accommodation allowance
